1-2nd, 3rd - 4th grade Coed Divisions:  (January-February 2023)

Teams meet twice weekly on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. All practices and games are at the Field House and will be during a 40 minute block between 5:15 and 8:00 pm. Players will play small sided and full field games.

• Registration Deadline: December 12th
• Season begins: January 9th 
• Season Ends: March 1st
• Practices and games: 40 minute sessions, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights between 5:00-7:15 pm 
• Fee:  $42
• Location: Fieldhouse

2022

Youth Basketball

Our youth basketball program is great for both first timers and kids who have played before.   Our league focuses on fundamental development, sportsmanship and fun!  All players get to play equal amount of time each game regardless of skill level.  Boys and girls compete separately.

3rd & 4th Grade Boys & Girls and 6-8th Grade Girls (Fall 2022)

Our youth basketball program is great for first timers and kids who have played before. Our league focuses on fundamental development, sportsmanship and FUN. All players get to play regardless of their skill level. The 3-4th grade levels play on a 9 foot basket with a smaller youth ball. The 6-8th grade girls use a regulation basket.

Youth Lacrosse

Lacrosse is fun, fast-paced and a great way for fall and winter athletes to stay active, in shape and sharpen hand-eye coordination.  During the Spring season we will schedule games against teams from across the Western Slope and travel to a couple of tournaments.  MRD has equipment to lend players on a first registered first served basis.  New this year teams will be based on age as of August 31st, not grade as we have done previously.  Sticks will be provided for the youth lacrosse girls league in 2023. 

Indoor Lacrosse at the Field House

The Fall season is a great time to sharpen your skills or to start playing for the 1st time. Rental equipment is available.

Youth Volleyball

2023 Spring Volleyball Schedule 3.23

The numbers for this program have been increasing each year thanks to great volunteer coaches!  Teams will again practice twice a week and play a total of 6 matches on Friday evenings throughout the season.  This is a great way for kids to learn the fundamentals of this exciting game while exercising with friends and teammates.  All games are played at the Montrose Community Recreation Center. 

3rd - 8th Grade Girls (Spring 2023)

• Divisions for 3-4th, 5-6th, and 7-8th 
• Registration Deadline: February 20th 2023
• Practices: M/W or T/TH between 5:00- 7:30, practice start times will vary
• Practices begin:  March 6th 2023
• Games: Played on Friday nights, starting March 24th

Montrose Youth Baseball and Softball Program

Take part in America's favorite pastime!  The MRD summer ball programs do not conflict with the spring soccer program.  Kids will learn teamwork, eye-hand coordination and sportsmanship.  Games are played Monday through Thursday evenings.  Fee includes the cost of uniform shirts that all participants get to keep at season's end.  The MRD summer Baseball & Softball Programs are perfect for both first timers and kids who have played before.  Leagues will be formed by the following age groups with boys and girls competing separately.  Program scholarships are available to children who qualify.

Homeschool Physical Education

Looking for a way to get your kids active?  Home School PE classes are a great place to start.  Join us on Friday afternoons at the new Community Rec. Center.  Tons of games, movement and sports will keep your kids engaged and wanting more.  Taught by Csilla Rodriquez, mom of 3 with a Masters Degree in Physical Education.  Sign up early as space is limited!

Youth Wrestling

This is a NEW program coached by the High School coaches and wrestlers. Your child will learn the basic moves and techniques to improve their skill and have FUN, finishing with a tournament to show off what they have learned.
