Beginning Spanish for Adults

Level B Home/Office

This class follows Level A (Greetings, Introductions) and builds vocabulary in everyday home / office conversation. With hands-on activities, listening and speaking games, students will gain proficiency and confidence! Learning another language is fun!

LEVEL D READING (PART 3)

(For students with experience in simple vocabulary and present tense verbs.) Learn Spanish in the context of a story! This course will continue the study of simple literature and challenge students with new vocabulary and introduction of the past tense! Join us for a 6 week focused discussion of 'El Robot'.

LEVEL C FAMILY/FRIENDS/OTHERS

(This course is for students who know a little Spanish and want to keep it simple, easy and fun!) Our focus will be on describing people, personalities and relationships.. New vocabulary and simple verbs will be showcased in a fun final project. All materials provided.

LEVEL D READING (PART 4)

(For students who are motivated to learn more Spanish and explore recognized examples of literature.) Focus will be on the Argentinian fable "El Leon y el Grillo". Interesting vocabulary, THREE verb tenses, and a clever plot will challenge and delight this class. Materials provided.

Mountain Biking

MOUNTAIN BIKE SKILLS

Former professional mountain bike racer, Laurie Brandt, will teach a coed mountain bike skills clinic for adults or kids 14-18 accompanied by an adult. This is for the beginner to intermediate rider who wants to learn how to execute skills correctly and safely. We will cover balance drills, braking, cornering, climbing, descending, lifting front and rear wheels, bunny hop and wheelies, riding switchbacks, pedaling efficiency and picking a line. Bike must be in good working order and bring helmet, appropriate clothing for the weather, food and water.

BIKE MAINTENANCE 

Learn how to keep your bike in great working condition and how to fix the typical mechanical problems. Bring your own road or mountain bike and learn how to remove and re-attach wheels, fix flats, true a wheel, replace a chain, fix a dropped chain and much more. Participants should bring a bike, rags, tire levers, spare tube, patch kit, spoke wrench, Allen wrenches 4, 5, 6 mm and a small screwdriver. This class will be outdoors, so dress for the weather.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MOUNTAIN BIKE SKILLS CLINIC

The Montrose High School Mountain Bike team and coaches are hosting a skill clinic for beginner to intermediate riders. Learn how to execute skills correctly and safely. Also learn about how to become part of the MHS Mountain Bike Team. Bike must be in good working order and bring helmet and water. A few loaner bikes will be available.
